The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kano State has restated it readiness to conduct Saturday’s bye-elections across affected constituencies, saying 1, 400 trained ad hoc staff and additional 300 on standby would be deploy for the exercise.
The state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ambassador Abdu Zango, disclosed this on Thursday, while responding to questions from a team of Journalists.
Amb. Zango noted that all arrangements have been concluded including the delivering of both sensitive and non-sensitive materials, configured Bimodal Voter Accreditation Systemv(BIVAS), signing of peace accord, inter-agency meeting, massive deployment of security personnel among others to designated and strategic locations.

He said the elections would be held for Ghari/Tsanyawa constituencyz comprising 337 polling units with about 75,000 voters to replaced a deceased state House of Assembly member, Halilu Kundila, while a rerun for Bagwai/Shanono would be held in about 10 polling units with about 5,200 voters between the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the All Progress Congress (APC).
He howeverz noted that while Bagwai/Shanono election results would be announced at the registration area centre, while the final result for Ghari would be declared at the INEC headquarters due to past challenges.
While highlighting on the importance of the political class conducting themselves responsibly and peacefully, Amb. Zango further emphasized on INEC’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible elections with integrity, non-partisanship, and zero tolerance for lack of accountability or transparency
