The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened the online media accreditation portal for the upcoming Rivers State bye-election in Ahoada East II and Khana II constituencies scheduled for February 21, 2026.
A statement from the electoral umpire on Monday urges all interested media organisations wishing to deploy their staff for the coverage of the election to apply via:
https://imap.inecnigeria.org before the portal closes on February 8, 2026.

The statement further said that no late applications will be entertained once the portal closes at midnight on February 8, 2026.
The two constituencies became vacant following the death of the member representing Khana II Constituency and the resignation of the member representing Ahoada East Constituency II, Edison Ehie, who is now the chief of staff to Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
