Youth leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Imo State has held a strategic meeting of the 27 local governments aimed at strengthening the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 general elections and off-cycle governorship election in 2028.
The meeting, convened by the state Youth Leader, Chika Emedo, assembled the 27 local government youth leaders and all zonal and deputy youth leaders of the party.
In a statement issued to journalists on Sunday after the meeting, Emedo emphasized the need for renewed commitment, unity, and hard work to position the ADC for electoral victories in the state.
He described the ADC as “the bride of the people”, insisting that the party remains the most credible alternative for Imo citizens seeking transformational and people-driven leadership.
“We must intensify our grassroots engagement and demonstrate the discipline required to deliver victory for the ADC. The youth must be at the forefront of changing the political narrative in Imo State,” Emedo stated.
Also present was Masuru Chiuba, former ADC state youth leader, who praised the renewed vibrancy within the youth wing and urged members to remain focused as the party intensifies preparations for upcoming elections.
The meeting is one of several planned engagements aimed at deepening the ADC’s grassroots mobilization across the 27 local government areas of Imo State.
