Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has pledged to continue to serve Deltans in accordance to God’s will, calling for support from the people to pray for his administration to succeed.

The governor stated this at the Heroes of Faith Ministries, Ughelli, headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Area, where he worshipped on Sunday.

Gov. Oborevwori, who was welcomed with enthusiasm by the congregation, disclosed that his visit was a surprise, even to his aides, saying; “I told our Lord bishop that when I will come, I will come unannounced”.

He said he was in the church to listen to the word of God and this was evident in his decision to visit the church without prior announcement.

Gov. Oborevwori thanked Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi for his support and endorsement during the 2023 election, despite facing criticism from some quarters.

He said: “People criticized you that you were a betrayal because you followed God and openly supported me”.

The governor highlighted the flyover projects and other development strides across the state as evidence of his government’s commitment to delivering tangible results.

“The evidence today is the flyover. When you are talking, you will say that the person God led me to support brought this flyover, and people will respect you more because you did the right thing”, he said.

While saying that his administration has been working tirelessly to deliver developmental projects and improve the lives of Deltans, the governor reiterated his commitment to serving the people of Delta State.

“I want to assure you that we will continue to serve you according to the will of God. Continue to pray for us to succeed, especially those of us in power, so that we are not distracted,” he said.

Earlier, Bishop Kingsley Enakirehi praised Gov. Oborevwori for his development strides across the three senatorial districts, describing him as a detribalized Deltan who has transcended ethnic boundaries to serve the people

The bishop expressed his profound appreciation for Gov. Oborevwori’s leadership, particularly highlighting the governor’s impressive infrastructural development initiatives across the state.

He described the governor as a man of speed who matches his words with action, noting that his infrastructure strides, including the recent approval for the construction of a flyover at Otovwodo Junction in Ughelli, are a testament to his result-oriented leadership.

In a sermon titled: “Living for Christ” the bishop called for repentance, calling those still perpetuating evil and wickedness to encounter Christ.
