An Ikeja court specializing in sexual offenses and domestic violence on Tuesday sentenced 22-year-old graduate Femi Ayoade to life in prison for defiling a four-year-old girl in a tricycle.
Justice Abiola Soladoye stated that the prosecution had convincingly established the single charge of defilement against Ayoade.
She characterized Ayoade as a “criminally audacious man who turned a child’s vagina into a playground,” calling his actions “shameless.”
The judge noted that the prosecution had presented strong evidence against the defendant.

“Therefore, the defendant is found guilty of the charge of defilement and is sentenced to life imprisonment,” she declared.
Additionally, the judge ordered that Ayoade’s name be added to the Lagos State Sexual Offences Register.
During the trial, state counsel Olufunke Alebiosu called two witnesses: the victim and her father, while Ayoade was the only witness for the defense.
The prosecution argued that the crime occurred in September 2021, around 11:10 a.m, at No. 19, Milestone Close, Infinity Estate, Skido Bus Stop, Eti-Osa, Lagos.
According to the prosecutor, the offense violates Section 137 of the Criminal Law, Chapter C17, Volume 3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
