The Grand Patron of the Isoko Development Union (IDU), High Chief Idu Amadhe, and a prominent businessman and philanthropist, Chief Dr Daniel Omoyibo, have commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for what they described as remarkable infrastructural development across Isoko Nation.
The duo spoke separately to journalists on Tuesday when the State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, led a team of government officials and members of the press on an inspection of the Ozoro Modern Market in Ozoro and some road projects in Oleh.
Speaking during the visit, High Chief Amadhe described the Ozoro Modern Market as a vital economic hub for women in the area, noting that the facility would significantly boost local trade and improve livelihoods.
“The market is very important to our women—our mothers and wives—because this is where they carry out their trading activities. Without a befitting market, it becomes difficult for them to succeed,” he said.
He recalled that the project was initiated during the administration of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for ensuring its completion.
“We are grateful to the state government. While it was awarded during the previous administration, the present governor provided the support and funding needed for its completion. We have long awaited its commissioning, and we are happy that the project is now ready for use,” he added.

On his part, Chief Dr. Omoyibo praised Governor Oborevwori for his responsiveness to the infrastructural needs of the people, particularly in road development.
According to him, residents of many communities in Isoko had endured years of hardship due to poor road conditions, but expressed satisfaction that the current administration was addressing the challenges.
“I have always said that the governor is a workaholic. When government officials came to assess non-motorable roads, I personally took them around affected areas. It didn’t take long before action was taken, and today we are seeing results,” he said.
Omoyibo, who described the governor as a “Road Master,” urged him to sustain the momentum by extending road projects across the entire Isoko Nation.
“I appeal that attention should not be limited to just one area. There are many communities in Isoko still facing serious challenges. If the government can deliver 50 to 100 kilometres of roads across the region, it will greatly improve the lives of our people,” he stated.
The inspection formed part of ongoing efforts by the Delta State Government to assess the progress and impact of key infrastructural projects across the state.
