The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has partnered with the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) to train and enlighten officer cadets of its department of Psychology on corruption and the techniques employed by ICPC in dealing with individuals while carrying out its mandates.
The Trumpet gathered that the objective of the partnership is to expose the cadets to the practical aspects of their course of study.
The anti-graft commission engaged the cadets in group discussions on how to conduct investigations, moot court operations, as well as systems and procedures for blocking loopholes in government, The Trumpet gathered.
While presenting his remarks at the training, the Kaduna State Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner of ICPC, Prince Hassan Muhammed, stated that ICPC was established with the responsibility of fighting corruption and corrupt practices in Nigeria.
He said, “No doubt your field trip to ICPC is a laudable one and as students, it is expected that you would see first-hand how certain issues that had been treated apply practically in the society.
In other words, you cannot be in the confines of the four walls of your institution and understand how human behaviour works without interacting with the larger society.”

He further stated that the visit would be an eye opener and a useful platform to shape cadets who are aspiring to become experts in the field of their study.
“You are welcome to ICPC, and we look forward to a very formidable partnership in moving the country forward,” he added. On his part, the team leader of the visiting school, Dr Jonathan Ogese, stated that the essence of the visit was to expose the cadets to practical knowledge of psychology.
Noting that it will also expose them to ICPC as an organization that deals with human beings.
