He said if he can achieve so much in revamping the economy of the state within almost four years considering the paucity of funds, decongesting the Port will not be a herculean task through a financial hub being put in place in Osun State.

Oyetola disclosed that his administration is actually, constructing a dry port where freighters can transport their containers.

This, he said “will help in decongesting the Apapa port.”

The governor reeled out his plan while returning his nomination forms to contest the APC governorship ticket on Friday at the All Progressives Congress, (APC) National Secretariat, Buhari House, Abuja.

He rated his administration as having done well in fulfilling pre-election promises in spite paucity of funds to take care of the welfare and security of the people of the state.

He stated that in the area of economy, the administration did so well by diversifying our economy in the areas of agriculture and tourism.

“In terms of welfare, we have been paying the salaries and pensions of the people every month since the inception of this administration.

“We have actually supported our people in the areas of agriculture and health scheme for the less privileged and taking care of the vulnerable, using social register.

“In the area of health, we have revitalized not less than 320 primary health care centers spread across the state. The intention is to ensure that our people have access to health care by having at least, a health care center, per ward.”

Governor Oyetola further stated that the administration tried to ensure fixing of all general hospitals in the state.

“We set up health insurance scheme to take care of the vulnerable. This is to ensure, no one in our state is denied access to quality health services because he or she does not have money.”

“In the area of security, we have invested so much to support security agencies and of course, the Amotekun security agency of the South West states is a pointer. Our state is the most peaceful state in Nigeria.

“We did a lot of reforms in the educational sector in line with the demand. Very recently we deployed one thousand new teachers in our schools to ensure that pupils get access to quality education at primary and secondary levels”.

Soliciting the backings of the people of the state, he said he believes that “given all that we have been able to do within this short period with paucity of funds, if given the privilege again, I will continue to improve on what we have done.”
