American singer and actress, Tamar Braxton, sister to a popular R&B star, Toni Braxton, has voiced her frustrations about being single at 48, expressing that she feels she should be married by this point in her life.
In a recent interview, the ‘Love and War’ singer attributed her single status to the absence of “nice men.”
She described her ideal partner as “a good man,” which she has yet to encounter.
“I am wife material, not a streetwalker. I’m frustrated that I’m still single. What’s going on?” she said.
“I believe the main reason I’m still single is that there aren’t the right guys out there. I only accept premium men, but lately, I’ve only met average ones. All I want is a good man; that’s my type,” she shared.
Tamar also acknowledged that her strong personality might deter men from approaching her.
“Yes, my personality can seem intimidating, and some men may lack the confidence to approach me because they think they can’t meet my standards.
“But right now, I’m trying to let go of being an alpha female and be softer. I’m working on it every day,” she added.
In a previous interview in 2025, Tamar mentioned that “my son is 11; I probably won’t date again until he’s 18,” during a conversation with Nivea on the “Life, Love, & Beyond with Tamar & Taz” podcast.
“I refuse to bring another man into his life if it’s not going to work out.”
Tamar has one son, Logan, with her ex-husband, Vincent Herbert.

The couple was married for nine years before filing for divorce in 2017.
During the podcast, Tamar pointed out that some men can be misleading, saying they tell you what you want to hear.
“They’re often broken and think they need to say certain things to attract a good woman, like ‘I want a wife, I want a family,'” she explained.
Since their divorce announcement in 2017, Tamar has been in two notable relationships.
She dated Nigerian businessman, David Adefeso from 2018 to 2020 and later became engaged to Jeremy Robinson in 2023 after meeting him on Peacock’s reality show “Queen’s Court.”
However, their relationship was tumultuous until 2024, with various issues arising.
Given that both of her exes were close to Logan, it’s understandable that Tamar is considering taking a break from dating.
