Ambassador Yeye Abimbola Animashaun Abdul, former National Women Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), United Kingdom chapter, has declared her unwavering commitment to the PDP and its leadership, both in Nigeria and the diaspora.
Speaking in a statement released on Wednesday, Amb. Abdul emphasized the importance of transparency in public service and stated that it is necessary for leaders to periodically clarify their stance on political matters, especially within the PDP, to ensure clarity for their supporters and stakeholders in Nigeria and abroad.
Abdul, a respected humanitarian and philanthropist, noted that her dedication to public service and the welfare of Nigerians remains her top priority. She reiterated that her philanthropic efforts have always been devoid of political interference, allowing her to serve communities in Nigeria and the diaspora without distractions.
She made it clear that her loyalty is to humanity and the values of democracy, while remaining firmly rooted in the ideology and vision of the PDP. “I owe no one any debt of loyalty beyond my convictions as a Democrat, a philanthropist, and a PDP member committed to the sustainable development of human capital,” she stated.

Dispelling rumors about her benefiting financially from party politics, Amb. Abdul boldly asserted: “I have never collected a single kobo from PDP aspirants or the party itself in my over 22 years of active service within the PDP, both in the UK and Nigeria. My contributions have always come from my own resources.”
She recalled her tenure as PDP Women Leader in the UK with pride, stating that she served with integrity, investing her personal funds and energy into building the party’s presence and unity in the diaspora. “I gave my all for democracy and the PDP. The records are available in the UK chapter, in Lagos State, and Alimosho Local Government Area where I continued my work upon returning to Nigeria,” she said.
Abdul described her political journey as one anchored on resilience, dedication, and a passion for national development. She expressed satisfaction that her service to the PDP has always been anchored on principles of selflessness and democratic ideals, regardless of political differences or challenges.
As the PDP navigates internal dynamics, Abdul reaffirmed her steadfastness. “From the UK, where my political journey began, to my return and continuous contributions in Lagos and Alimosho, I have never wavered. I remain a loyal PDP member, committed to its growth and the betterment of our people,” she concluded.
