Veteran Hollywood actor and Academy Award winner, Denzel Washington, has taken a life-changing step by dedicating his life to Christ. The 69-year-old star of The Equalizer was baptized over the weekend at Kelly Temple Church of God in Christ, located in Harlem, New York City, marking a significant spiritual milestone in his journey of faith.
Washington, whose acting career spans decades, revealed that his late mother had prophesied about his divine calling when he was just 20 years old. During the baptismal service, he shared how a woman named Ruth Green encountered him at his mother’s beauty parlor and predicted that he would travel the world and preach to millions. “She said, ‘Boy, you are going to travel the world and preach to millions of people.’ She couldn’t even spell the word prophecy. My mother wrote the word down… 50 years later, look at God,” Washington recounted with emotion.
The Hollywood legend, who turns 70 this week, reflected on the profound moment, expressing gratitude for the fulfillment of that prophecy. He told the congregation, “It took a while, but I’m here. To God be the glory. Hallelujah! If He can do this for me, there’s nothing He can’t do for you. The sky literally is the limit, and there’s no limit to the sky.”

The iconic actor’s powerful testimony and newfound spiritual path have resonated widely, as fans and followers express admiration for his boldness in sharing his faith journey. In a heartfelt declaration, he said, “Anything I can do, I will do for this church and the Almighty. I just want to be in that number when the saints go marching in.”
