Gunmen dressed in black and numbering up to seven have kidnapped Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, President of the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), whisking him away to an unknown location.
The Igbo National Council (INC) President, Chilos Godsent, confirmed the incident in a statement released on Sunday, February 9, 2025. He described the abduction as a “Neo Mafia Gestapo-style operation”, revealing that the assailants stormed Works Layout in Owerri, Imo State, on the evening of Saturday, February 8, arriving in a Sienna and a Lexus SUV before forcefully taking Igboayaka.
Since the abduction, all attempts to contact Igboayaka have failed, as his mobile lines were immediately switched off, leaving his family, friends, and associates in distress and uncertainty.

The Igbo National Council (INC) has issued an urgent call to the Nigerian Police Force, Imo State Command, demanding an immediate investigation into the incident. The group insists that security operatives must identify the kidnappers and make their findings public.
