A group under the aegis of Advocates for Good Governance and Humanity, the renewed Hope Agenda has described Akwa governor as a symbol of national unity for his bipartisan disposition in politics and all-inclusive approach to governance.

Executive members of the group led by Hajiya Zainab Ibrahim during a courtesy visit to Eno last week explained that he has not only concentrated on delivering democracy dividends across the nooks and crannies of Akwa Ibom state but has ensured political inclusion, tolerance and peaceful co-existence among every group irrespective of political leaning.

“We are happy that you are one outstanding governor who understands that political parties are just mere vehicles to get to political office but more importantly you understand the need to unite the people to ensure unity, love and the general good of all.

“We have watched with keen interest your genuine support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, we have seen the synergy and working relationship between you and the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Petroleum Resources (Gas), Obong Ekperipe Ekpo among others in other political parties and we are glad that national unity, peace, development, progress and harmony remain your priority.

The group also observed that the state under Governor Eno has spread projects and programmes across every sector of the economy.

“You are also a very compassionate governor whose milk of human kindness had touched the vulnerable and indigent members of the society beyond the boundaries of your state,” they added.

The group therefore urged Eno to sustain his pragmatic approach to governance and ensure that a new Nigeria emerges from his candid efforts and exemplary leadership as well as political disposition seen in his state.

“You are already a symbol of National Unity and peaceful Co-existence, you have also carried along non-indigenous people across the country and other ethnic nationals residing in Akwa Ibom state in your administration through various appointments and empowerment schemes.

Eno, while responding to the remarks reiterated his strong belief in the unity, progress and development of Nigeria above partisan politics.

He maintained his strong desire to wholly support and ensure the success of President Bola Tinubu’s administration as he worked hard to address problems he didn’t create.

Eno reflected on his humble beginning and the challenges his family faced to earn a living adding that his humility and compassion for the downtrodden was borne out of love for God and humanity.

He expressed his deep desire to ensure his administration remains focused in ensuring that the people get quality services for the mandate entrusted to him while prioritizing unity peace and development above other considerations.

Security Crisis in Katsina: Senate pressures Tinubu to build Military Barracks after 35 killed in fresh bandit attacks By Paul Joseph The Nigerian Senate has raised the alarm over a worsening security crisis in Katsina State, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately establish a military barracks in the Funtua axis following deadly bandit attacks that claimed no fewer than 35 lives within 24 hours. Lawmakers expressed deep concern on Wednesday as reports emerged of coordinated assaults across three local government areas in Katsina South, describing the situation as a national emergency that demands swift and decisive federal intervention. The Senate also warned against any form of negotiation with armed groups terrorising rural communities, insisting that sustained military presence remains the most effective response. The call followed an urgent motion moved under Order 42 by Senator Dandutse Mohammed, who represents Katsina South. The motion, which received overwhelming support, was admitted for debate by Senate President Godswill Akpabio. While presenting the motion, Senator Dandutse disclosed that Katsina State is once again in mourning after a fresh wave of attacks swept through the Funtua Zone. He revealed that bandits ambushed Mobile Police Force operatives in Guga, Bako Local Government Area, killing three officers and leaving two others critically injured. According to the lawmaker, at least 35 people were killed in less than 24 hours across the zone. He said 24 residents were murdered in Faskari Local Government Area, eight in Bakori, two in Funtua Local Government Area, and one in Kankara, underscoring the scale and coordination of the violence. Dandutse warned that the persistent insecurity has crippled economic activity in the area, with more than 50,000 acres of farmland abandoned as farmers flee their communities. He cautioned that the situation poses a grave threat to food security and agricultural production, not only in Katsina State but across the wider region. The Senate’s resolution adds pressure on the Tinubu administration to translate security pledges into concrete action, as lawmakers insisted that a permanent military base in Katsina South would help deter banditry, protect rural communities, and restore confidence among residents.
