The Initiative for Transparent Strategy and Good Leadership, a non-governmental organization has demanded the prosecution of the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, and 26 other pro-Wike members of the assembly for perjury, and allegedly lying on oath.
President General of the group, Chizi Enyi in a letter addressed to the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, threatened to drag the governor, and the state government to court if the governor fails to take legal action against the lawmakers after seven days.
“All the necessary documents relating to the commission of the crime, when, where, and date, to enable you to prove your case beyond reasonable doubt, are hereby attached.

“The essence of this letter is to let you know that we can not fold our hands, and see those entrusted with leadership positions to be lying on oath, and thereby, betraying their positions of trust, and abusing the confidence reposed on them.
“We wish to let you know that if you fail within these seven days, to initiate criminal prosecution against the above-mentioned persons, we will apply to the court for an order of mandamus to compel you to do so,” the group threatened.
