Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed mourned the death of a former Commissioner for Finance, Prof. Kabiru Isa Dandago, describing his passing as a great loss to the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, Yusuf said the late Dandago was a dedicated public servant and distinguished academic whose contributions to education and governance left enduring footprints in Kano.
The governor noted that Prof. Dandago served the state with integrity and commitment during his tenure as finance commissioner, earning widespread respect for his professionalism, humility and passion for knowledge.
According to Yusuf, Kano has lost a valuable son whose wealth of experience and wisdom enriched both public service and the academic community.

“Prof. Dandago was an accomplished scholar and a seasoned administrator who brought honour to the state through his service and intellectual contributions,” the governor was quoted as saying.
He added that the late former commissioner’s legacy would continue to inspire future generations of leaders and scholars in the state.
Governor Yusuf extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the academic community and the people of Kano State over what he described as an irreparable loss.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late Prof. Dandago and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, while also asking God to give his family and loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
