Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has confirmed that he will formally defect to the All Progressives Congress, (APC) on November 19, 2025.
Speaking over the weekend in Jalingo, Kefas said his decision was guided by what he described as “the destiny of Taraba State,” emphasizing that the move was not driven by personal ambition.
According to the governor, aligning with the APC will better position the state for development, unity, and long-term opportunities.
He noted that the political shift is aimed at securing a stronger future for Taraba and ensuring the state benefits from what he believes to be a more strategic political direction.

In preparation for the event, Kefas has as well gone ahead to inspect facilities at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, the chosen venue for the defection ceremony.
The stadium, as gathered by our reporter, is expected to host a large gathering of supporters, dignitaries, and party stakeholders from across and beyond the state.
It will be recalled that Kefas was absent in the just concluded PDP National Convention, held in Ibadan over the weekend.
