Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to education by organizing a statewide school competition ahead of the Northeast Zonal National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) National Quiz. The event, held in Jalingo on Thursday, was designed to prepare students for the high-profile contest while deepening their understanding of democracy and legislative governance.
Governor Kefas, represented by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Augustina Godwin, praised the students for their brilliance and determination, noting that Taraba has consistently produced strong performances at the quiz. “The primary purpose of education, which my administration has made free and compulsory, is to equip our children for the challenges of life. We believe competitions like this build not just knowledge, but confidence and civic responsibility,” he said.

He also commended Hajiya Hauwa Sadiq Pate, the NILDS State Coordinator, for her unwavering commitment to advancing Taraba’s educational reputation.

She expressed confidence that Taraba’s team, driven by passion and commitment, would deliver an outstanding performance this year.
