A former aide to the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Ndiana-Abasi Udom has distanced himself from a recent speculation linking him with the opposition People Democratic Party (PDP) in the State.
The clarification came after he was selected as a member in the newly formed caretaker committee of the opposition PDP in the state.
Speaking with reporters in Ukanaful, Mr Udom distanced himself from the People Democratic Party(PDP), maintaining that he remains a loyal member of the All Progressive Congress(APC).

He noted that his resignation from a State government appointment was strictly a personal decision and bore no political undertone.
“My resignation from government appointment had nothing to do with the PDP caretaker committee. I believe my name was included due to my recent silence in political activities,” he stated.
He explained that his withdrawal from the political limelight was to focus on his private venture.
Reaffirming his political loyalty, Udom said” I am a fully registered member of the APC in my ward with registration number 174210, and I am listed as number 5 on the party register. I have never attained any PDP meeting, publicly or privately since my voluntary decision to join the APC as well as support the present administration in the state.”
He also addressed rumours about his political stance, reiterating his firm support for the current Governor of the State.
“A lot has been said, but I leave the rumour peddlers to God. In Ukanaful, you can not mention 10 supporters of the Governor during the 2023 election without naming Nana Udom. I was there then, I am still here and I will remain here until he completes his second term and beyond. I am not a man of double stance,” he concluded.
Recall that Mr Udom had recently resigned from his appointment as a member of Akwa Ibom State Rural Access Road Agency(AK-RARA) which had fueled these speculations.
