Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who also chairs the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), has officially flagged off the 65th Annual General Meeting and Conference of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) with a grand golf tournament held at the scenic Ilorin Golf Club. The ceremonial tee-off attracted prominent business leaders, top government functionaries, and industry players from across Nigeria and beyond.
The golf tournament not only set the stage for serious business deliberations but also infused the event with an air of elegance, friendship, and networking. It drew key investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers who participated not just to compete but to foster connections that could influence economic cooperation and strategic investments.
Governor AbdulRazaq, while addressing the gathering, highlighted the significance of merging leisure with leadership as a powerful way to strengthen economic ties and inspire unity within the private sector. He praised NACCIMA’s consistent advocacy for economic growth and free enterprise since its establishment in April 1960, noting that the organization has remained a formidable voice for business interests across the nation.

As the tournament progressed, the atmosphere buzzed with optimism, echoing the larger theme of the AGM: economic resilience, collaboration, and innovation in business. Participants commended the Kwara State Government for its hospitality and commitment to creating a business-friendly environment, which continues to attract investment and foster development.
This year’s NACCIMA AGM, anchored on building stronger commercial frameworks and policy dialogue, is expected to set new agendas for economic transformation in Nigeria. The choice of Ilorin as host city further cements Kwara’s rising status as a strategic hub for commerce and industry in Northern Nigeria.
The event not only marks a celebration of NACCIMA’s legacy but also serves as a testament to the increasing role of subnational governments in driving national economic progress. With the successful kickoff of the tournament, all eyes now turn to the plenary sessions and strategic meetings that will shape Nigeria’s economic discourse for the months ahead.
