Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has expressed profound shock and sadness over the devastating tanker explosion that occurred earlier this week in Majiya village, Jigawa State. The tragic incident, which claimed nearly 107 lives and left more than 50 others injured, has left the nation in mourning.
In a heartfelt statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, Governor Zulum extended his deepest condolences to Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, and the grieving families of the victims. He also offered prayers for the souls of the deceased and for the speedy recovery of those injured in the catastrophic accident.
“I am deeply pained by the tanker explosion that tragically took nearly 107 lives and left many others injured,” Zulum said. “On behalf of the government and people of Borno State, I offer my heartfelt condolences to my brother, Governor Umar Namadi, and the families who have suffered such an immense loss.”

The deadly explosion occurred on Tuesday around noon when a tanker driver lost control of his vehicle near Khadija University in Majiya village, leading to a devastating fire that engulfed the area. The incident has been described as one of the worst tanker explosions in recent history.
