Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has condemned the killing of a woman and her children in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters of Kano metropolis, describing the incident as barbaric and a grave assault on human dignity.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, the governor expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and extended condolences to the bereaved family, residents of Dorayi Chiranchi, and the entire people of Kano State.
Gov. Yusuf described the murder of a mother and her innocent children as unacceptable and vowed that his administration would ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
He directed the Kano State Police Command to immediately commence a manhunt for the perpetrators with a view to arresting and prosecuting them, warning that anyone found culpable would face the full weight of the law.
“The government will not allow such a heinous crime to go unpunished,” the governor was quoted as saying.
As part of measures to prevent a recurrence, Gov. Yusuf also ordered the Kano Neighborhood Corps to intensify patrols and community surveillance, particularly in vulnerable areas across the state.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening grassroots security and safeguarding lives and property, adding that the government would continue to work closely with security agencies to maintain peace and order.

The governor further called on residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could aid ongoing investigations.
He urged members of the public to promptly report suspicious movements or activities in their communities.
Gov. Yusuf prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and asked Allah to grant their family the strength to bear the loss.
It could be recalled that unknown assailants had attacked and killed a 35-year-old woman, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children during a brutal attack on their residence at Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters of Kano metropolis.
