In preparation for the upcoming Ramadan, Governor Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe State, has set -up committees to oversee the distribution of 2025 Ramadan palliatives across the state.
The initiative, according to the governor is aimed at the smooth distribution of relief materials to support residents during the holy month.
Announcing the development, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, stated that the governor’s directive underscores his commitment to citizens’ welfare, particularly during the Ramadan.
The newly appointed state coordinator for the exercise, as announced by the governor, is Abubakar Luggerewo, to be assisted by local government coordinators in the 11 local government councils.

The distribution committees at both local government, and ward levels comprise commissioners, legislators, council chairmen, traditional rulers, APC officials, civil society representatives, and key community stakeholders.
Additionally, ward distribution committees, have been established.
The action is aimed at ensuring grassroots participation, by including ward councillors, representatives from women, and youth groups, religious organizations, and non- governmental organizations.
The formal inauguration of the committees, is scheduled for Saturday, at 3:00pm at the SSG’s Conference Hall, Government House, Gombe.
