Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has restated his administration’s zero tolerance for criminal activities, describing the protection of lives and property as a non-negotiable priority.

The governor made this known during a high-level security meeting held earlier in the week with the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12, comprising Bauchi and Gombe States, Abubakar Aliyu, at the Government House, Gombe.

The meeting followed a recent security breach in Pindiga community, Akko Local Government Area, where two persons were reportedly killed and three others abducted by unknown gunmen.

During the engagement, the governor and the police chief reviewed the overall security situation in the state, with discussions focusing on strengthening intelligence gathering, increasing police presence, and improving rapid response mechanisms to prevent further incidents.

Gov. Yahaya assured the police of the state government’s continued support, pledging to deploy all lawful measures necessary to ensure sustained peace and stability across Gombe State.

Responding, Sadiq Aliyu commended the governor for his proactive leadership and consistent support for security agencies.

He disclosed that the police had intensified efforts to track down the perpetrators of the Pindiga incident and bring them to justice, while also strengthening preventive security operations across the state.

The police chief further pledged enhanced coordination among security agencies within Zone 12, emphasizing that actionable intelligence and community collaboration would be critical to restoring and maintaining calm.

Aliyu was accompanied to the meeting by the commissioner of police, Gombe State Command, alongside other senior police officers.
