Governor Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe State has expressed deep shock over the fatal accident involving a Kano Line passenger bus that departed from Gombe, which claimed 13 lives and left five others injured.
The tragic incident occurred last week at Samawa Village in Garunmalam Local Government Area of Kano State.
In a statement issued by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Ismaila Misilli, Gov. Yahaya described the crash as “heartbreaking and a monumental loss,” not only to the families of the deceased but to the entire nation.
“This is a deeply painful tragedy. The loss of 13 precious lives in a single incident is devastating.
“My heartfelt condolences go to the families of the deceased and all those affected by this sad event. I also wish the injured passengers a speedy and complete recovery,” the governor said.

While commiserating with the bereaved families, Gov. Yahaya urged them to take solace in the will of Almighty Allah.
He also extended his sympathy to the management of Kano Line Transport Company and the Ibrahim Dankwambo Mega Motor Park, calling for a thorough review of safety protocols to prevent similar occurrences.
The governor appealed to motorists to always exercise utmost caution and adhere strictly to traffic regulations, especially during long-distance travel, to reduce the frequency of avoidable road tragedies.
“On behalf of the government and people of Gombe State, I offer our deepest condolences. May Allah forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, comfort their families, and grant quick recovery to the injured,” Gov. Yahaya prayed.
