Those involved were staff of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Gombe, and the Gombe State Ministry of Information.

Gov. Yahaya described the incident as a devastating tragedy that has plunged the state into mourning, noting that the loss extends beyond the immediate families of the victims, to the media and public service sectors in Gombe State.

In a condolence message, the governor said the deceased were dedicated professionals who contributed significantly to informing and educating the public, describing their deaths as a major loss to journalism and governance in the state.

“This tragedy is deeply painful. We have lost committed colleagues and devoted public servants whose contributions will not be forgotten,” the governor said.

He extended his condolences to the families of the victims, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), the management and staff of the NTA, and the entire media community within and outside the state.

The governor also expressed concern for those injured in the accident and currently receiving medical treatment.

They include Emmanuel Akila, Steven Doddo Nina Gadal, and Jonathan Bara.
