Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has lauded the Super Falcons for their impressive composure and determination that led to their recent championship win.
While hosting the team at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge, Gov. Uzodimma specifically recognized the players from Imo State for their exceptional performance and significant role in the national success.
He characterized the victory as a representation of unity, discipline, and national pride, emphasizing that it showcases the boundless potential of Nigerians when they unite with a common goal.
This acknowledgment followed a day after President Tinubu arranged a meeting with the Super Falcons to celebrate their historic achievement.

The Super Falcons returned to Nigeria on Monday, landing at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, to a warm reception after their successful campaign in Morocco, where they claimed their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
The team arrived at 2:26 pm on a chartered flight and was welcomed by excited fans and notable government officials, including the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Hanatu Musawa, and the Minister for Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim.
