Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has appointed Mr. Orok Okon as the new head of service for the state.
The announcement was made by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Linus Obogo, in a statement released to the media in Calabar on Wednesday.
Mr. Okon takes over following the retirement of Dr. Innocent Eteng, the previous head of service, who was recognized for his contributions to the state.
The governor stated that Okon’s new role became effective on September 19.
He expressed his commitment to bringing skilled leaders into the civil service.

Gov. Otu encouraged Okon to lead with vision, integrity, and a strong desire for reform, while also working to improve efficiency and professionalism in the state’s public service.
He emphasized that his administration aims to strengthen the government for better service to the people of Cross River State.
