Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has dismissed criticisms from opposition political parties in the state, stating that his administration will continue to respond with verifiable projects that positively impact the lives of Deltans.
Speaking during the inauguration of the Boji-Boji Owa Mixed Modern Market in Ika North-East Local Government Area, Gov. Oborevwori, represented by the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, downplayed the influence of opposition voices, describing them as mere “noise makers on social media.”
“The few members of the opposition political parties are only making noise on social media; our people are seeing and enjoying the projects we have executed in their communities. It is good that with verifiable projects, we are responding to our critics,” Gov. Oborevwori said.
The governor emphasized that his administration remains focused on delivering infrastructure that supports trade, and investment rather than engaging in online political debates.
He noted that Deltans recognize and appreciate the tangible developments under his leadership.

As part of his administration’s commitment to economic growth, Gov. Oborevwori inaugurated the Boji-Boji Owa Mixed Modern Market, a project initiated under the previous administration, and championed by Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, the member representing Ika North-East Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.
Following the inauguration, Gov. Oborevwori ordered the immediate closure of the old abattoir at Boji-Boji Owa Market, citing the need for improved facilities.
“This market is fitted with a state-of-the-art abattoir, therefore, let us put an end to all activities in the old abattoir,” he directed, while highlighting the importance of the new market in boosting entrepreneurship and job creation.
“It is my firm belief that this facility will not only boost economic activities but also create jobs, stimulate innovation, and improve the overall well-being of the citizens.
“Therefore, the facility must be given timely maintenance to ensure sustainability because my administration is committed to providing infrastructure that supports trade and investment,” he added.
