The Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has described the late elder statesman, Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, as a symbol of patriotism, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the development of the Niger Delta and Nigeria.
Speaking during a condolence visit to the Clark family at their Kiagbodo country home.on Friday, Gov. Oborevwori acknowledged the profound legacy of the late nonagenarian, stating that his boldness, courage, and commitment to national development set him apart as a true leader.
Accompanied by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, and other top government officials, the governor expressed deep sorrow over Clark’s passing, but emphasized that his life was one to be celebrated.
“Papa was a man of robust integrity. His contributions to the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large cannot be erased.
“His memory, wisdom, and fearless advocacy made him one of the most vocal voices from this region,” Gov. Oborevwori remarked.

Highlighting Clark’s legacy, the governor, noted that the late elder statesman’s book, ‘Brutally Frank’, was a testament to his sharp intellect and unwavering principles.
He also recalled his last conversation with Clark, during which the elder statesman commended his leadership, but assured him that he would have spoken up if he was under-performing.
“He didn’t mince words. He was focused, articulate, and always stood for the truth. His passing is a great loss, but his legacy remains,” the governor said.
Gov. Oborevwori assured the Clark family and the Ijaw nation of the state government’s support during the mourning period.
Responding, the eldest child of the deceased, Mrs. Rebecca Okorodudu, alongside her uncle, Prof. Collins Clark, expressed gratitude to the governor for his visit, and pledged continued support for his administration.
As Delta State and the entire Niger Delta mourn the loss of one of their most distinguished sons, tributes continue to pour in for the late Pa E.K. Clark, whose legacy as a fearless advocate and nationalist will forever be remembered.
