As a result of the poor performance by Delta State in the recently concluded national youth sports festival in Asaba, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has demoted Mr. Festus Owhojero from his position as executive assistant on sports to senior special assistant.
It could be recalled that Lagos State won the competition, dethroning Delta State to second position.
However, no punishment was meted out to the Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Mr Onoriode Oborevwori.

The governor was also very angry with the local organising committee of the youth sports festival.
The governor decried the incompetence and ill-preparation for the games despite the huge budgetary allocation.
He therefore charged the local organising committee and the state sports commission to give him a comprehensive report of the national youth games.
