Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting and building a brighter future for every child in Ebonyi.
The governor said this on the occasion of the 2025 Children’s Day celebration in the state.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, and made available to journalists on Tuesday in Abakaliki, Gov. Nwifuru referred to children as “the most precious assets of Ebonyi State and the foundation upon which tomorrow’s prosperity will be built.”
He also highlighted the significant progress his administration has made in promoting child development and welfare since he took office.
“Today, as we celebrate you, the hope and promise of our future, we also reflect on the theme of this year’s celebration: Stand up, speak up: Building a bullying-free generation.
“This theme is both timely and powerful. It calls us all, parents, governors, governments, educators, leaders, and indeed every member of the society, to action.

“We must listen to our children, empower them to use their voices, and create environments where they feel safe, heard, and valued.
“As great children of Ebonyi and Nigeria, I urge you to stand tall in your truth, speak up for yourselves and others, and always show kindness and courage.
“Let me use this medium to remind you that you are not alone. Your government stands with you, committed to safeguarding your rights, ensuring access to quality education, and deliberately creating an atmosphere where your dreams can flourish free of fear or intimidation.
“As governor, I reaffirm our administration’s resolve to strengthen child protection systems, promote inclusive education, and support initiatives that nurture a generation of confident, responsible, and compassionate young leaders,” Gov. Nwifuru said.
