In a bold move to boost agricultural productivity and industrial development in Taraba State, Governor Agbu Kefas has signed a major agreement with indigenous firm Orijin Tech Group to transform the state’s agricultural sector.
The memorandum of understanding, signed on Monday in Lagos, will see Orijin Tech Group spearhead a large-scale mechanised farming initiative across 50,000 hectares of land in Taraba.
The partnership will also facilitate the supply of modern farm machinery, advanced irrigation systems, and the establishment of commodity aggregation hubs to support the “Produce for Lagos” initiative.
Gov. Kefas, accompanied by a delegation of top state officials, visited Orijin Tech’s headquarters in Oregun and the company’s automobile assembly plant in Surulere.
The visit was aimed at deepening collaboration and inspecting equipment destined for deployment in Taraba.
While touring the facilities, the governor held high-level discussions with Orijin Tech Group Chairman, Prince Samuel Samuel.
Talks focused on rolling out mechanisation hubs, developing farm estates, and setting up aggregation centres across Taraba to fast-track food production and rural industrialization.
“Our partnership with Orijin Tech represents a major step forward in our drive to achieve food security, create jobs, and industrialise Taraba State,” Gov. Kefas said.
