Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across the state, emphasising that the safety of communities depends on the professionalism and readiness of security agencies.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2025 6 Brigade training of security agencies in Jalingo, Gov. Kefas, represented by the secretary to the state government, described the two-week exercise as a significant step towards achieving a safer Taraba.
“It is with immense pride and a deep sense of responsibility that I address you today. The skills you have acquired are not merely technical competencies, but essential tools that will enable you to carry out your duties with greater efficiency and confidence,” the governor said.
He commended the participants for their dedication to improving their skills, stressing that modern security challenges demand collective action and robust inter-agency collaboration.
“The threats we face today are increasingly sophisticated, and our response must be equally adept,” he added.

The governor urged security agencies to deepen cooperation and coordination and applauded the efforts of the trainers, instructors, and the Commander of the 6 Brigade, Brig. Gen. Kingsley Uwa, for their leadership and commitment to building the capacity of security forces in the state.
Brig. Gen. Uwa highlighting the importance of inter-agency cooperation, noted that the advanced driving and vehicle maintenance skills acquired during the training will enhance operational efficiency, particularly in navigating difficult terrains.
“The knowledge you have gained during this training is invaluable. You are now better prepared to face the challenges that lie ahead in your respective duties,” Brig. Gen. Uwa said.
