Landowners in Wukari Local Government Council of Taraba State, have applauded Governor Agbu Kefas, for his proactive efforts in compensating them for land acquired by the state government for the permanent site of the Federal University, Wukari.
The beneficiaries, represented by Ba’aku Adi, secretary of the compensation committee, commended Gov. Kefas for addressing an issue that had been ignored by four previous administrations.
Since assuming office in 2023, the governor, according to the landowners, has prioritized the payment of compensation, which according to them, have provided the much needed relief to the landowners and their families.

“Governor Kefas has shown genuine commitment to the plight of the beneficiaries by disbursing the funds as agreed. His actions have brought succor to many families who have waited for years,” said Mr. Adi.
Also, the legal counsel who represented the landowners for over a decade during litigation and mediation processes, P.M. Shagnah, praised the governor for authourising the payment of compensation to the affected landowners.
“He is a God-sent leader who has wiped the tears of my clients after years of neglect by previous regimes,” Shagnah remarked.
The landowners, impressed by the governor’s swift and consistent response to their concerns, expressed optimism that the remaining compensation payments would be settled soon.
The governor’s actions which they viewed as a testament to his dedication to justice and the well-being of his constituents, they believed has contributed to the ongoing peace in the state, particularly in Wukari Local Government Area.
