In a bold move to transform Rivers State into Nigeria’s tourism hub, Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara has kick-started the revitalization of the long-neglected Port Harcourt Tourist Beach. This effort, part of his administration’s urban renewal program, aims to reestablish the site as a vibrant center for arts, culture, and tourism.
Governor Fubara shared that the revitalization process includes extensive sand filling of swampy areas and securing a reputable investor to manage and revamp the facility. During his inspection of the ongoing work at the Tourist Beach, located off Churchill Road in downtown Port Harcourt, he expressed optimism about the project’s potential to breathe new life into the area and boost tourism.
“Bringing back the Port Harcourt Tourist Beach is a core part of our mission to restore Rivers State to its former glory,” Governor Fubara stated. “This expansion will create a modern tourist destination that not only honors our culture but also supports economic growth.”
