The Rivers State Executive Council on Thursday took a very bold step and cancelled the ₦134 billion contract for the reconstruction of the state secretariat, earlier awarded during the emergency rule.

The council also directed the contractor, CCECC to refund the ₦20 billion mobilization fee it received.
