Governor Siminalayi Fubara has taken the first decisive action since returning from suspension on account of the state of emergency.
The governor has ordered the dissolution of the recently inaugurated state oensions board.
The board was inaugurated by the outgone Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas few days to the end of his term in the state.
In a statement on Saturday signed by the state Head of Service, Mrs. Inyingi Brown, she said the governor has approved the immediate dissolution of the pensions board.

“Consequently, the office of the accountant general of Rivers State henceforth, will handle the functions of the board.
“Members of the defunct board are by this notice advised to hand over all properties and assets of the board in their possession to the director of administration of the board”
The statement said the governor will in due course constitute a new board to manage its affairs of.
