Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has eased the curfew imposed in Lamurde Local Government Area of the state after a recent community conflict.
The curfew, which previously lasted all day, has been adjusted to allow residents to have free movement from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.
The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, shared this news in a statement issued in Yola on Monday.
The original curfew was established on Friday after several events raised concerns for safety in the area.
The governor explained that after carefully reviewing the security situation, he authorized this change to help residents return to their daily lives while still keeping peace in the community.
He encouraged everyone to take advantage of this time to go about their activities peacefully.
