Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to empowering youths and women for sustainable development in the state.
The governor pledged while receiving a delegation from the Yusrah Muslim and Youths Organisation on a courtesy visit to the Government House in Yola.
Expressing his delight over the visit, which coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, Gov. Fintiri appreciated the organization for its efforts in community engagement.
He highlighted the significant progress recorded in Adamawa State under his leadership, emphasizing that the ongoing development aligns with his campaign promises for good governance.
Reflecting on the early challenges of his administration, the governor recalled that Adamawa State was in distress due to insurgency and other security threats.
However, he noted that his government successfully restored stability and paved the way for growth.
Gov. Fintiri underscored the importance of empowering youths and women, describing them as the most vulnerable groups in society.

To address this, he announced plans to enhance educational sponsorship, recruit more teachers, and ensure adequate staffing for newly established institutions, including a specialized facility dedicated to women’s education.
Also, the governor urged the delegation to continue advocating for peace and unity while offering prayers for the state’s progress.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Prof. Fatima Joda commended Gov. Fintiri for his numerous interventions, particularly in supporting women entrepreneurs.
She cited initiatives such as the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency and infrastructural developments as key programmes that have positively impacted businesses in the state.
Prof. Joda further noted that the Yusrah Muslim and Youths Organisation remains committed to supporting women and youths through skill acquisition and empowerment programmes.
