Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to tackling crime and ensuring the safety, and security of citizens in the state.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division, Jos, Maj. Gen. Eyitayo Oyinlola, at the Government House, Yola, Gov. Fintiri emphasized the importance of collaboration between the state government and security agencies.
He urged citizens to provide timely intelligence to enhance public safety, and strengthen security operations.
Acknowledging the state’s proximity to Boko Haram-affected areas, the governor commended the army’s efforts in curbing criminal activities, and assured the army of continued government support.

“We are committed to supporting institutions whether federal or state because of their importance to the development of our people,” Gov. Fintiri stated.
He also pledged to review the state’s memorandum of understanding, with the Command Secondary School, Numan, and provide necessary assistance.
Maj. Gen. Oyinlola, who is also the commander of ‘Operation Safe Haven’, reaffirmed the military’s commitment to restoring peace in Adamawa State.
He linked recent security challenges in the state, to the displacement of criminal elements from the North West, but assured that troops are actively working to neutralize any possible threat.
Reflecting on his early service years in the state, the GOC praised the state’s transformation under Gov. Fintiri’s leadership.
He also commended the state government’s support for the brigade and ‘Operation Farauta’, instructing the brigade commander to intensify efforts against kidnapping.
Additionally, Maj. Gen. Oyinlola called for stronger collaboration between the state government and Command Secondary School, Numan, citing the impressive academic performance of local students.
