Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has praised the Department of State Services (DSS) for the rescue of two kidnapped Catholic priests in Numan, describing the operation as a testament to the state’s firm stance against criminal activities.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the governor applauded the DSS for its swift and professional response, which led to the safe recovery of Rev. Fathers Matthew Dusami and Abraham Samman without ransom payment.
The priests were abducted in February 2025, from their residence at a convent in Gweda Mallam in Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Their release followed a coordinated effort by DSS operatives, culminating in the arrest of the suspect, Tahamado Damien, a member of the church.
