Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has paid the February salaries of local government workers in the state, despite the delay in the allocation from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).
While many states are still waiting for funds from the federal government, Adamawa has taken the lead, leveraging its growing internally generated revenue to meet the salary obligations of local government workers on time.
This move underscores the state’s progress towards financial independence under Gov. Fintiri’s administration.
As of today, March 16, the federal government has yet to release February’s FAAC allocation to local governments nationwide.

However, Adamawa’s proactive approach has shielded its workers from financial uncertainty, setting a benchmark for other states.
Gov. Fintiri’s commitment to economic sustainability, as made known by some top government founctionariies, is gradually reducing the state’s reliance on federal funds.
By strengthening its revenue base, the state continues to prioritize workers’ welfare, while demonstrating that strategic governance can drive self-sufficiency.
