Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has expressed shock over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as a profound loss to Nigeria.
Buhari, who passed away on Sunday in London, was remembered by Gov. Fintiri as a leader whose life and service left an indelible imprint on the nation’s history.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Gov. Fintiri praised Buhari’s steadfast commitment to Nigeria’s unity, growth, and development, highlighting his leadership both as a military head of state and later as a democratically elected President.
“His dedication to national unity especially during Nigeria’s most challenging periods, including the civil war demonstrated his statesmanship and deep-rooted vision for a united Nigeria,” the governor stated.

The governor lauded Buhari’s contributions in infrastructure development, agriculture, and security, noting that his efforts toward stability and democratic governance would not be forgotten.
Gov. Fintiri also extended heartfelt condolences to the former First Lady, Aisha Buhari, who hails from Adamawa State.
He urged her to stay strong amid her grief and assured her of the support and prayers of the people of Adamawa.
“You are not alone in your grief. May Allah grant you the strength to bear this great loss, and may you find comfort in the cherished memories of your beloved husband,” Gov. Fintiri said.
