Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has dissolved the management board of the Jimeta Modern Market with immediate effect.
In a statement released on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the governor announced that the board chairman and other members have been relieved of their duties.
The dissolved board members have also been directed to hand over all government property in their possession to the commissioner of commerce and industry.
The commissioner will now oversee the market’s operations as the state prepares for a transitional phase.
Gov. Fintiri emphasized the importance of maintaining the market’s functionality and directed the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to ensure a smooth handover.

“The Ministry of Commerce and Industry must now ensure a seamless transition and work diligently to maintain the market’s functionality,” the governor said.
He further called on relevant authorities to safeguard the interests of all market stakeholders and to create a conducive environment for business growth.
“The market’s success is crucial to the state’s economic well-being, and we expect the ministry to take all necessary steps to ensure its optimal operation,” Gov. Fintiri added.
The governor’s decision is seen as part of a broader effort to revamp commercial infrastructure and promote sustainable economic development in Adamawa State.
