Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri chaired the State Executive Council meeting at the new Council Chamber in Government House on Thursday in Yola where the council sanctioned projects totaling over N26 billion aimed at enhancing roads, agriculture, and infrastructure.
After the meeting, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, James Iliya, informed reporters that the council allocated N3.89 billion for the construction of the 11.2-kilometre Plum Road in Michika Local Government Area, and N6.59 billion for additional asphalt overlay on the Mubi–Garta–Kamale Road, which will be extended to 17.5 kilometres.
He also mentioned that N4.43 billion was approved for further asphalt overlay on the 14-kilometre Sukur Road in Madagali, while N3.24 billion was designated for asphalt surfacing of the 10.3-kilometre Kishinga Road.
These projects are expected to greatly enhance road connectivity and stimulate socio-economic activities in the regions involved.
Additional approvals included N1.5 billion for purchasing NPK fertilizer for dry season farming and N1.73 billion for acquiring 22 Massey Ferguson tractors and their accessories to support agriculture.

The council also sanctioned N460 million for the accreditation of nine academic programs at the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology in Ganye, N256 million as the 20 percent counterpart fund for the 2025 Basic Health Care Provision, and N235.6 million as compensation for land acquired for the Federal University of Agriculture in Mubi.
Furthermore, N481 million was approved for upgrading the Jada water supply scheme, and N328.5 million was allocated for purchasing a modern road sweeping truck to enhance environmental sanitation in the state.
The commissioner highlighted that the investments reflect the government’s dedication to advancing infrastructure development, boosting agricultural productivity, and reinforcing essential services for the residents of Adamawa State.
