Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has charged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to the state to make meaningful contributions to the development and transformation of their host communities and organizations.
The governor delivered the charge on Tuesday during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘C’ orientation course.
Represented by Mr. Emmanuel Akpabio, a director in the Ministry of Youth Development, Eno commended the corps members for their discipline, cooperation, and conduct throughout the orientation exercise.
“I receive heart-warming reports of your conduct, discipline, and cooperation with camp officials.
“I commend you for this and encourage you to sustain such virtues throughout your service year,” he said.
Gov. Eno noted that past corps members had left enduring legacies across the state and urged the new batch to surpass those achievements in their various places of primary assignment.
He assured them of the peaceful and hospitable nature of the state, advising them to integrate fully and respect the cultural values of their host communities.

“Let me assure you that Akwa Ibom State is a peaceful and hospitable state. All you need to do is to integrate fully with your host communities and appreciate their cultural values,” he added.
The governor also cautioned corps members against travelling at night, stressing that past losses recorded in the scheme were largely due to late-night journeys.
Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Sam Pepple, disclosed that over 700 corps members had successfully undergone training in discipline, team spirit, and resilience, and are now “ready, fit, and prepared for the service of our fatherland.”
