The Founder and National Coordinator of the Credible Abiola Movement (CAM), Abiola Beredougha, has resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) and defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC)
Abiola defected with his over 5,000 members in his Yenagoa residence, citing his defection to his loyalty to Gov. Diri, who has just defected to the APC.
He commended the governor for his development strides in the state, especially the Oporoma Ukubie Road that is under construction.

He highlighted the performance of Gov. Diri as his major reason for joining the APC, noting that the governor has surpassed his predecessors and has brought genuine transformation to Bayelsa State.
He called on all his supporters and all Bayelsans to rally round the governor and give him the necessary support he deserves for him to thrive in the APC.
Also, Abiola commended Sen. Kombowei Benson and other stakeholders for following Gov. Diri to the APC, assuring the governor that he would mobilise votes for the APC and President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
