Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, is in Istanbul,Turkey, spearheading efforts to attract foreign investment to the state.
Represented by the state Deputy Governor, Idi Gubana, the governor, a statement made available to journalists in Damaturu, by Hussaini Suleh, press secretary to the deputy governor, is engaging with foreign investors and development partners to showcase Yobe State’s economic potentials and foster collaboration in key sectors of the state’s economy.
The statement said Gov. Buni highlighted the state’s abundant mineral resources, urging investors to capitalize on the opportunities to boost small and medium enterprises in the state.
He emphasized the state government’s commitment to economic empowerment through the establishment of the Ministry of Wealth Creation, Empowerment, and Employment Generation, which, aims to equip youth of the state with the skills needed for self-reliance.

The governor underscored the importance of sports as a global industry and a means of promoting health and fitness.
He invited development partners to support sports initiatives in the state, recognizing its potential as both a recreational and economic driver.
Leader of the investors delegation in Istanbul, Ismail Iktas, expressed keen interest in Yobe State’s natural resources and economic prospects.
He assured the state of his team’s readiness to invest, particularly in solar power, small and medium-scale businesses, and sports development.
