Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has called for calm following the recent incident at the Potiskum Phone Centre and has donated N10 million to support the victims.
Represented by the Commissioner for Justice, Sale Samanja, the governor commiserated with those affected and assured them of a thorough investigation into the incident.
Gov. Buni acknowledged the significance of the Potiskum Phone Centre as a vital hub for young entrepreneurs and reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting the victims and fostering lasting peace in the community.
The N10 million donation, he said will serve as immediate relief and will be disbursed through the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (YoSEMA), after an assessment and validation process by the Potiskum Local Government chairman to ensure that the funds reach the rightful beneficiaries.

Additionally, the governor pledged further support to prevent similar occurrences and promote stability in the region.
During a meeting with stakeholders, the Chairman of Potiskum Local Government Council, Alhaji Salisu Muktari, urged the leadership of the Potiskum Phone Centre to remain calm and assured them that a permanent site for the centre would soon be allocated.
The move he said, would enhance communication infrastructure and boost economic activities in Potiskum and across Yobe State.
Muktari also emphasized the importance of unity within the community as a foundation for sustainable peace and development.
Expressing their appreciation, the leadership of the Potiskum Phone Centre thanked Gov. Buni for his swift response and commitment to restoring peace.
They also welcomed the promise of a permanent site, noting that it would significantly improve communication infrastructure and stimulate economic growth in the region.
