Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has taken a major step towards strengthening security and enhancing community safety across the state with the official distribution of 47 patrol vehicles and 50 motorcycles to security agencies and local government councils.
The handover ceremony, held at the Government House in Damaturu, underscores the administration’s commitment to peace, stability, and socio-economic development.
The governor described the initiative as more than just logistical support, but a strategic investment in the state’s long-term security architecture.
“This is about strengthening our security architecture to safeguard communities and provide stability for development.
“A peaceful Yobe is the foundation of a prosperous Yobe,” Gov. Buni stated.
The vehicles and motorcycles were distributed to all 17 local government areas, with divisional police officers receiving allocations on behalf of their jurisdictions.
Other security agencies, including the army, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), as well as local vigilante groups, were also among the beneficiaries.
